Job Title: Ofsted Registered Manager Parent and Child Assessment Unit

Salary: £43,000 - £50,000 per year, depending on qualifications and management experience.

About the Role: We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Ofsted Registered Manager to oversee the operations of our Parent and Child Assessment Unit. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of care, assessment, and support for parents and their children while maintaining full compliance with Ofsted regulations and relevant legislation.
Key Responsibilities: Leadership & Management: Provide strong leadership to staff, ensuring a positive and nurturing environment for parents and children.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure the unit operates in full compliance with Ofsted regulations, The Residential Family Centres (Amendment) Regulations 2013 , and the Quality Standards.
Parenting Assessments: Oversee the completion of comprehensive parenting assessments using evidence-based models to evaluate parental capacity and child welfare. Complete parenting assessments at times when needed.
Quality Assurance : Ensure any reports, documents and write ups by support staff going external clients are quality assured to sufficient standard.
Safeguarding: Ensure robust safeguarding policies and procedures are implemented, protecting children and vulnerable families from harm.
Staff Supervision & Development: Recruit, train, and manage a team of skilled professionals, providing supervision, appraisals, and ongoing development in line with safer recruitment processes.
Service Improvement: Drive continuous improvement, ensuring high-quality services through audits, feedback, and best practice implementation.
Multi-Agency Collaboration: Work effectively with social workers, local authorities, health professionals, and legal teams to support assessment processes and family interventions.
Financial & Operational Management: Oversee budgeting, resources, and overall operational effectiveness of the unit.
Report Writing & Documentation: Ensure accurate record-keeping and high-quality reports are maintained for assessments and regulatory inspections.
Full-Time Presence within the service: The role requires full-time presence within the service Camellia House in Reading.
Essential Requirements: Must hold or be willing to obtain Ofsted Registered Manager status.
Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care (Children & Young Peoples Services) or equivalent or be willing to work towards one.
Minimum 2 years of management experience within a childrens residential or family assessment setting.
Strong knowledge of Ofsted regulations, safeguarding procedures, and child protection legislation.
Experience in conducting or overseeing parenting assessments in a professional setting.
Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
Ability to work under pressure and handle complex family situations with empathy and professionalism.
Full UK driving license and ability to travel as required.
Essential is candidate being near Reading or living within Berkshire Area
Desirable: Experience working within a parent and child assessment unit .
Knowledge of PAMS (Parent Assessment Manual Software), CUBAS, Parent Assess, or other parenting assessment frameworks or be willing to undertake additional training for these specialist assessments areas
Experience in preparing for Ofsted inspections and achieving high regulatory ratings.
