Multi Trades Recruitment is looking for an HGV Class 2 Driver to be trained as a Vacuum Excavator Operator to begin work for a well-established civil engineering company based in Reading, with projects across the South East, London, Midlands and nationwide.
About the role:
- Working Hours: Monday to Friday (Regular overtime and weekend work available)
- Pay Rate: From £16.00 per hour (depending on experience)
Brief Role Description:
We are looking for an experienced HGV Class 2 Driver who is eager to develop new skills by training as a Vacuum Excavator Operator. You will work with a modern fleet of specialist vacuum excavation vehicles, supporting major civil engineering, utility, rail, airport and infrastructure projects throughout the UK.
Duties will include:
- Operating vacuum excavators safely and efficiently on customer sites
- Carrying out daily vehicle and equipment inspections
- Completing digital job reports and site paperwork
- Working closely with site teams and second operatives
- Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and professionalism
- Representing the company positively on-site
- Following all health and safety procedures
- Travelling to projects across the UK as required
- Full training provided
- Long-term opportunity with career progression
About You:
- High work ethic & team player
- Punctual & reliable
- Valid HGV Class 2 Licence (essential)
- Good understanding of health & safety
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Excellent communication skills
- Previous vacuum excavation experience is beneficial but not essential
- CSCS, CPCS or NRSWA cards are advantageous
- Able to commute to Reading (RG7 4PW)
