About the role:

  • As part of the Hydro Team, the Production Support Engineer will lead and develop the production team, managing performance, training, HR processes, and ensuring delivery against targets.
  • Drive safe and efficient operations through audits, resource planning, team coordination, and deputising for leadership as required.
  • Plan, schedule, and oversee operational and maintenance activities, managing work orders, risk assessments, MMS compliance, and the development of job plans, PMs, and asset data.
  • Analyse and report production performance, coordinating with trading and commercial teams to optimise plant strategy, outage planning, and market delivery.
  • Support incident reporting and investigations, while driving safety and compliance through audits across health, environmental, quality, and business standards.
  • Provide operational support and emergency cover while collaborating across teams to resolve issues, deliver plant improvements, support outages, and maintain procedures and safe operation across sites.
  • Lead safety compliance and coordination, undertaking key safety roles, overseeing work sponsorship, and supporting the development, training, and application of Safety Rules and procedures across the site.
  • Provide administrative, systems, and training support, utilising key IT platforms while maintaining records, supporting compliance activities, and contributing to the ongoing development of team capability.

Who we're looking for:

To be successful in this role you'll ideally have:

  • A HNC in Engineering (or equivalent) with experience in plant operations, maintenance, or power generation.
  • An IOSH certified, with Safety Coordinator authorisation (or willingness to obtain) under Generation Safety Rules.
  • Strong knowledge of work control processes and CMMS (e.g. Maximo), including planning, scheduling, and work order management.
  • Confidence in using key IT systems (e.g. Microsoft Office, SharePoint, PI, Eclipse, Evotix).
  • An analytical and solution-focused mindset, with the ability to investigate plant issues and drive improvements.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, able to influence, coach, and clearly explain complex information.
  • An understanding of electricity markets and optimising plant performance, and be commercially aware.
