About Us

JG Pears is a fourth-generation family business that's grown from a livestock farm near Penistone into one of the largest names in the UK's animal by-products sector, processing over 10,000 tonnes of material a week across the Group. We're investing heavily in where this industry is heading from our own combined heat and power plant, to a windfarm on our own land, to a joint venture right next door at High Marnham building a hydrogen production facility that's helping drive the UK towards net zero. Low Marnham sits at the centre of that growth, and we're looking for a Production Operative to join a 24/7 site and a team that's part of it.

Salary: £14.91 per hour, with overtime paid at time and a quarter for any additional hours worked

Location: Low Marnham, Nottingham, NG23 6SP

Working pattern: 4 on 4 off, alternating days and nights, 12 hours per shift

About the Role

You'll be at the centre of a busy, always-on production line operating machinery, driving forklifts, and using our SCADA system to monitor real-time data from sensors and equipment across the site. It's hands-on, varied work on an established, 24/7 operation.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Ensuring smooth operation of the processing line in line with rules and procedures
  • Completing all relevant paperwork as required by the shift supervisor, storing this correctly
  • Carrying out pre-start up checks and handovers
  • Operating machinery
  • Checking temperature, colour of meal and other quality checks
  • Using the SCADA system to monitor real-time data from sensors and equipment, recording data where necessary
  • Keeping production areas clean and tidy
  • Forklift driving

What You'll Bring

  • Production / Warehouse / Manufacturing experience is essential
  • Forklift licence or experience is desirable but not essential
  • Loading shovel and shunter licence desirable, full training given
  • English ESOL Entry 3/Level 1
  • Good understanding of Health and Safety
  • A strong team player with an excellent attendance record
