Tillicoultry Quarries is a successful and fast-growing family-owned quarrying company and major supplier of aggregates, asphalt, ready-mixed concrete, mortar, render and sports sand to the building and road construction industry. We operate in over 35 sites throughout Central Scotland, the North East of England and East Anglia.

Due to our continued success and rapid growth an excellent opportunity has arisen for a Production Manager, to support the development of our Sand & Gravel business in East Anglia. This position will be based out of our Blackborough End Head Office.

THE JOB ROLE

Reporting to the Director for the area you will be responsible for providing leadership to our production teams to ensure the efficient day to day running of our three Sand & Gravel Quarries and recycling unit in East Anglia. The safety of our team and customers is our highest priority, and it is therefore essential that the successful candidate has a recognised Health and Safety qualification and is committed to ensuring best practice and compliance in accordance with Health, Safety and Environmental legislation.

This is an exciting opportunity for a self-motivated individual who is looking for a new and varied role, with the ability to manage and organise people and demonstrate an understanding of Quarries Regulations, engineering, and legislation. You will be customer focused, ensuring service and quality standards are met and maintained whilst performance is maximised. You will be a team player and be committed to delivering our company values.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE

  • Responsible for the safety of our teams, ensuring best practice and compliance with Health, Safety and Environmental legislation.
  • Operate at 8.1c appointed person level in line with Quarry Regulations where required.
  • Develop and help manage meaningful KPIs for sites to ensure value, output, and efficiency.
  • Project Management to ensure continuous improvement and business development.
  • Support with the leadership and development of our teams to deliver the highest level of quality and service to our customers.
  • Build and maintain relationships with regulatory bodies and other external customers to ensure a high level of compliance and business development and improvement.

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU

  • Excellent management and leadership skills with the ability to develop teams to drive continual improvement.
  • Excellent awareness of current Health, Safety and Environmental Legislation.
  • Completed, or be working towards, a SHE NVQ Level 6 qualification or equivalent.
  • Excellent understanding of Quarry Regulations 1999 and ACOP.
  • A good understanding of heavy plant and machinery, including maintenance planning.
  • Proven track record working within the extractives industry.
  • A good technical understanding of Sand & Gravel extraction and production processes.
