About the role:

Our Research & Development team is the creative engine behind KP Snacks, innovating to bring delicious, exciting and high-quality snacks to consumers across the UK. From developing new flavours and formats to improving existing recipes, the team combines consumer insight, market trends and technical expertise to shape the future of snacking.

We're looking for a Process Development Technologist to join our Research & Development team. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or someone early in their career who is passionate about food, innovation and manufacturing.

Working as part of a collaborative project team, you'll support the development and launch of exciting new products and processes across some of our most loved brands. You'll gain hands-on experience in factory trials, product development, process optimisation and cross-functional project delivery, working closely with colleagues across Engineering, Manufacturing, Procurement and Commercial teams.

This role offers fantastic exposure to the full product development lifecycle, with opportunities to travel, learn from experienced technical experts and build a rewarding career within a leading snacks business.

What will you be doing?

  • Supporting product and process development projects
  • Assist with the development of new products and optimisation of existing recipes, helping to deliver products that meet consumer expectations for taste, quality and value
  • Planning and delivering factory and pilot trials
  • Support the organisation and execution of trials, ensuring accurate data collection, analysis and documentation while working closely with site teams to validate performance and scalability
  • Ensuring technical and food safety compliance
  • Help ensure products meet all statutory, legal, customer and food safety requirements, maintaining accurate records throughout the development process
  • Working collaboratively across multiple teams
  • Partner with colleagues across Operations, Engineering, Procurement, Commercial and Technical teams to support successful product launches and business projects
  • Driving continuous improvement and innovation
  • Analyse data, benchmark competitor products and contribute ideas that improve products, processes, efficiency and sustainability across the portfolio

  • A degree in Food Science, Physical Science, Formulation Engineering or a related discipline

  • The ability to collect, interpret and communicate data to support informed decision making and continuous improvement
  • Excellent organisation and communication skills

  • A willingness to learn, embrace new challenges and contribute positively within a fast-paced team environment
  • Previous FMCG, project or manufacturing experience would be beneficial but is not essential
