A well-established main contractor with an outstanding reputation for delivering high-quality construction projects is looking to appoint an experienced Bid Writer to join its growing pre-construction team.
Operating across education, healthcare, commercial, industrial and public sector projects, the business has secured a strong pipeline of work through long-standing client relationships and key public sector frameworks.
With continued investment in its pre-construction function, this is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in winning work across projects ranging from £2m to £20m.
The Role
Working closely with the Bid Manager, Estimating and Pre-Construction teams, you'll be responsible for producing compelling, high-quality tender submissions that clearly communicate the company's strengths, technical expertise and social value commitments.
This is a role for someone who can manage multiple deadlines, interpret client requirements and create engaging content that helps secure repeat business and framework opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
Produce high-quality written responses for PQQs, SQs and tender submissions.
Develop persuasive answers to quality questions, ensuring they meet client requirements and scoring criteria.
Coordinate information from operational, commercial and technical teams to produce accurate submissions.
Tailor content for projects across different sectors
Maintain and develop the bid library, case studies and supporting documentation.
Create content covering social value, sustainability, health & safety and quality management.
Ensure submissions are professionally presented and completed within strict deadlines.
Support continuous improvement of bid processes and submission quality.
What We're Looking For
Previous experience as a Bid Writer within construction or the built environment.
Strong experience producing successful PQQ, SQ and tender submissions for a main contractor.
Excellent written communication and proofreading skills.
Ability to manage multiple bids simultaneously and work to tight deadlines.
Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
Experience of public sector frameworks would be highly advantageous.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and bid management software.
