Senior Quantity Surveyor: £55,000 £70,000

The Opportunity We are currently recruiting for an established and highly regarded construction contractor with a strong order book and an exciting pipeline of projects across Liverpool .
Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint either a Project Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor , depending on experience.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established contractor delivering a varied portfolio of education, commercial and healthcare projects across the Liverpool area.
The roles will involve a combination of office and site-based working , giving you the opportunity to be closely involved with projects from a commercial and operational perspective.
The Role As a Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for the commercial management of projects, working closely with project teams, clients, subcontractors and suppliers to ensure projects are delivered successfully and profitably.
Key Responsibilities Managing the commercial aspects of construction projects from start through to completion
Preparing and submitting monthly valuations
Managing variations, changes and compensation events
Preparing and monitoring CVRs and cost/value reporting
Cost forecasting and monitoring project expenditure
Managing subcontractor accounts and payments
Procurement and negotiation with subcontractors and suppliers
Reviewing and agreeing subcontractor applications and final accounts
Monitoring project costs against budgets
Identifying commercial risks and opportunities
Assisting with project cost control and financial reporting
Preparing and agreeing final accounts
Working closely with the site and project management teams
Maintaining strong commercial relationships with clients, subcontractors and suppliers
Supporting the successful commercial delivery of projects
Senior Quantity Surveyor At Senior QS level, you will take greater commercial ownership of projects and play a key role in supporting the wider project and commercial teams.
You will be expected to demonstrate strong commercial awareness, confidently manage client and subcontractor relationships, and provide guidance to less experienced members of the commercial team where required.
About You We are interested in speaking with Quantity Surveyors who have experience working for a main contractor or construction contractor and are looking for their next opportunity in Liverpool.
You should have:
Previous experience working as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry
Strong commercial and financial awareness
Experience managing valuations, variations, CVRs and final accounts
Good knowledge of subcontractor management and procurement
Strong negotiation and communication skills
The ability to work effectively with both site and office-based teams
Good attention to detail and organisational skills
A proactive and commercially focused approach
A relevant Quantity Surveying, Construction or Commercial Management degree would be advantageous.
For the Senior Quantity Surveyor position, you will ideally have substantial experience managing projects independently and taking ownership of the commercial function.
