V3 Recruitment is currently recruiting on behalf of our client in Hilsea for an experienced Warehouse Operative to join their busy and growing team. The Role
As a Warehouse Operative, you'll play an important role in keeping the warehouse operation running smoothly. Working with time-sensitive freight, you'll be responsible for ensuring goods are handled safely, accurately and efficiently during busy morning and afternoon operations. This is a physically active role that requires a strong work ethic, attention to detail and the ability to work as part of a close-knit team.
Key Responsibilities
- Loading and unloading trailers safely and efficiently
- Checking pallets to ensure dimensions and weights have been declared correctly
- Identifying and reporting any discrepancies or damaged goods
- Moving and handling freight in line with company procedures
- Carrying out heavy lifting while following manual handling and health & safety guidelines
- Keeping the warehouse clean, organised and safe at all times
- Supporting colleagues to ensure daily operational targets are achieved
What We're Looking For
- Previous warehouse experience is essential
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Strong attention to detail
- A positive, flexible and proactive attitude
- Ability to work well under pressure in a busy environment
- Commitment to maintaining high health and safety standards
- Counterbalance Forklift Licence (Must have a valid certificate that is in date - not in house)
- Awareness of warehouse health and safety procedures is advantageous
