Role Overview: Lead and manage a team of field-based engineers to deliver client contracts focusing on operational efficiency, safety and ensuring alignment with organisational objectives and client expectations. This role involves cultivating and maintaining robust relationships with both internal teams and external stakeholders to facilitate seamless contract administration. By motivating and guiding management and operational teams, you will drive high performance standards across all your contracts. Your leadership will be pivotal in achieving operational excellence and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver operational excellence.
- Compile and manage call-out rotas to ensure sufficient cover.
- Ensure adherence to company procedures, implement improvements where necessary, meet KPIs, maintain contractual compliance, deliver services within set budgets, and process all financial invoicing on time, including chargeable and extra work.
- Manage contract-related finances, including cost management, parts analysis, timesheet reviews, invoicing, and ensuring month-end processes are completed by the fifth working day.
- Monitor field workforce productivity through reports, manage performance, and drive continuous improvements. Address underperformance trends with documented improvement plans, encompassing sickness and absence policies.
- Attend client meetings to build and maintain strong working relationships, explore opportunities to increase work streams, and ensure timely receipt of payments by managing debts.
- Lead and engage the team to foster a positive work environment, encouraging ownership of responsibilities and projects. Develop and coach team members, including Contract Management and Supervisors, through regular meetings and performance reviews.
- Ensure all aspects of Health, Safety, and Environmental Management are monitored and managed within your area of responsibility. Keep the team updated on Gas Safe Legislation and Health and Safety Awareness through monthly toolbox talks and as required.
- Oversee team vehicles, ensuring completion of van checks, management of returns, presence of appropriate PPE, and execution of van stock audits using fleet check applications.
- Work closely with HR on people matters, maintaining communication and relationships with compliance HR Business Partners.
Skills & Experience:
- Relevant gas qualifications, including Gas Safe registration, with a robust technical background in gas systems.
- Comprehensive understanding of gas safety regulations and compliance standards, ensuring all services adhere to legal and safety requirements.
- Proven practical experience in managing gas servicing contracts, demonstrating effective oversight and delivery.
- Stakeholder engagement - the ability to build and maintain relationships with clients, contractors etc., ensuring clear communication and high levels of service satisfaction.
- Experience leading and developing teams, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and high performance.
- Commercial acumen, cost control, and financial reporting related to contract delivery.
- Familiarity with housing association standards and requirements, ensuring services align with organisational policies and tenant expectations.
