This position involves carrying out high-quality welding and fabrication work on a variety of marine vessels, including new build projects, refits, and maintenance, ensuring all welds meet required industry and client standards.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Carry out welding on a range of marine structures and components (MIG, TIG, MMA)
  • Work on new build vessels, refits, and repair/maintenance projects
  • Fabricate and weld pipework, plate, and structural components
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and welding symbols
  • Ensure all welds meet quality standards and pass NDT requirements where applicable
  • Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental regulations on site

Qualifications and requirements:

  • Proven welding experience within a marine or shipyard environment
  • Competent in multiple welding processes (MIG, TIG, MMA)
  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings and specifications
  • Relevant welding qualifications/codeds (e.g. 6G, 6GR desirable)
  • Strong awareness of health and safety practices
