Working as part of a collaborative multidisciplinary engineering team, you'll play a key role in the design and development of next-generation embedded display systems used across industrial and marine applications. This is a genuine opportunity to influence products from initial concept through to production, helping shape the future direction of both hardware design and engineering best practice.

Based in Poole, the company combines the agility of a UK engineering team with the backing of an established international manufacturing organisation, giving engineers the opportunity to work on innovative products with global reach.

The Role

This is a hands-on design position where you'll take ownership of complex electronic hardware development, working closely with software, mechanical and product teams throughout the full product lifecycle. From refining product requirements through to design validation and production readiness, you'll be involved in every stage of development, ensuring robust, manufacturable and high-performance solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design electronic hardware solutions for embedded display products and custom customer applications
  • Develop complex schematics and multilayer PCB layouts using Altium Designer
  • Design high-performance single board computer hardware using modern SoC architectures
  • Work closely with Product Managers to refine technical requirements and product specifications
  • Optimise designs for performance, manufacturability and cost
  • Develop test plans and support regulatory compliance activities including EMC
  • Perform hardware validation, testing and debugging to component level
  • Participate in technical design reviews and contribute to engineering best practice
  • Produce and maintain technical documentation throughout the development lifecycle
  • Collaborate closely with embedded software engineers during board bring-up and system integration

What We're Looking For

You'll be an experienced Electronics Hardware Engineer with a passion for developing innovative embedded hardware solutions and solving complex engineering challenges. You'll ideally have experience of:

  • Electronic hardware design within a commercial environment
  • Altium Designer for schematic capture and PCB layout
  • Embedded single board computer design
  • Digital and analogue circuit design
  • SoC-based hardware development (NXP i.MX or similar would be highly beneficial)
  • DDR3 / DDR4 memory design
  • DC-DC power supply design including buck, boost or SE PIC converters
  • Display interface technologies such as MIPI DSI or LVDS
  • EMC-conscious design and compliance testing
  • Hardware debugging and validation to component level
  • Working alongside embedded software teams during hardware integration
  • Exposure to Linux-based embedded systems or the ability to understand software interactions with hardware would also be advantageous.

The Person

You'll be someone who enjoys taking ownership of technically challenging projects and thrives in a collaborative engineering environment. You'll be:

  • An innovative engineer who enjoys developing new products
  • Comfortable working across the complete product development lifecycle
  • A proactive problem solver capable of working independently
