Are you a Site Agent looking to take a leading role on a major infrastructure project in Cumbria? This is an excellent opportunity for a delivery-focused Site Agent to join a complex self-delivery scheme with a contractor that genuinely values technical capability, ownership and high-quality delivery.

A leading UK civil engineering contractor is seeking a Site Agent with a strong self-delivery background to help drive a major programme of works. The business is known for delivering complex infrastructure projects through its own directly employed workforce, backed by strong engineering capability, disciplined planning and a culture built around accountability and delivery. They are growing fast, securing long-term frameworks and high-value civil engineering packages across infrastructure, energy, highways, water and T&D. They invest heavily in their people, promote from within, and give Site Agents real authority to influence delivery rather than simply supervise it. This role suits someone who thrives in a hands-on contracting environment, understands the realities of site execution, and brings structure, pace and clarity to multidisciplinary teams.

As Site Agent, you will be a key driver of day-to-day delivery, ensuring works are planned, coordinated and executed safely, efficiently and to specification. Working closely with engineers, planners, commercial teams and site delivery leads, you'll maintain programme alignment, manage change on the ground, and ensure the project progresses in line with cost, time and quality expectations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and coordinate site delivery teams to ensure efficient, safe execution of works
  • Support the development and maintenance of the project programme (Primavera P6)
  • Produce high-quality documentation, reporting and site governance
  • Manage NEC3/NEC4 processes at site level, including Early Warnings and change events
  • Identify risks early and implement practical mitigation strategies
  • Maintain strong communication with internal teams, clients, designers and subcontractors
  • Uphold CDM compliance and company procedures across all site activities
  • Drive continuous improvement in planning, controls and delivery processes
Required Experience & Qualifications
  • Degree or recognised qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or similar
  • Strong background in self-delivery contracting (civils, infrastructure, structures, highways, utilities, energy etc.)
  • Experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams in a live construction environment
  • Solid understanding of NEC3/NEC4 contract requirements and site-level processes
  • Strong documentation, reporting and organisational capability
  • Ability to drive pace, maintain structure and bring clarity to complex site operations
Desirable (but not essential)
  • Experience delivering complex civil engineering works (structures, reinforced concrete, earthworks, drainage, temporary works, highways, utilities etc.)
  • Knowledge of CDM, construction sequencing and temporary works
  • Exposure to project controls (risk, change, cost, earned value)
  • Professional membership or working towards it (ICE, CIOB etc.)
  • Experience with digital tools such as Aconex, CEMAR, Power BI or similar
What's on Offer
  • Genuine influence over day-to-day delivery and programme outcomes
  • High-profile civil engineering projects with real technical complexity
  • Strong progression opportunities within a growing, ambitious business
  • A supportive environment that invests in training, development and professional accreditation
