Bennett & Game are pleased to be working with a leading civil engineering contractor who are seeking an experienced Senior General Foreman to join an £11m bridge replacement project near Seaford, East Sussex.
The project is currently underway and is expected to run through to early 2028, involving the construction of a new bridge over the River Cuckmere alongside a wide range of heavy civil engineering activities.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Senior General Foreman with a strong background in heavy civils, highways and earthworks to take a leading role on a complex infrastructure project.
Key Responsibilities
Direct and supervise operatives and subcontractors on site.
Ensure works are completed in accordance with the site programme.
Contribute to programme preparation and planning.
Plan and order materials and plant to meet programme requirements.
Maintain accurate daily records of works undertaken.
Ensure all plant is suitable for the task and complies with current legislation.
Ensure environmental systems and procedures are implemented effectively.
Monitor works to ensure compliance with company quality, health & safety and environmental policies.
Drive productivity while maintaining high standards of workmanship and safety.
Work closely with site management and project teams to ensure successful project delivery.
Role Requirements
Proven experience as a Senior General Foreman / General Foreman within heavy civil engineering or infrastructure.
Strong experience in highways and earthworks operations.
Experience working for a main contractor would be advantageous.
Confident managing site teams, operatives and subcontractors.
Strong people management and communication skills.
Ability to drive productivity while maintaining high standards of health, safety and quality.
SMSTS certification is essential.
CSCS certification is essential.
Lift Supervisor and NRSWA Supervisor qualifications would be advantageous.
Full UK driving licence.
