Ask Jules are looking for two live in care assistants to support our client, who is preparing to begin her third year studying Biology this September and is looking to build a team of like-minded Personal Assistants to support her with personal care, daily living tasks and social activities while she studies.
Location: Oxford (OX1)
Shift Pattern: 7 days on / 7 days off (live in)
Start Date: Late September 2026

- Pay: £180 per day / £1,260 per week worked

About our client
Our client is due to start her third year at university from September, studying biology. She has cerebral palsy and therefore is a full-time wheelchair user. She is seeking a team of likeminded PAs to support her with personal care, daily living, as well as social support. Based in shared university accommodation, this unique role includes your own room within the accommodation, allowing you to provide flexible support while respecting our client's independence.
Our client leads a busy and active lifestyle. She is passionate about music and sport and enjoys making the most of everything university has to offer. She plays in the university symphony band and regularly takes part in parkrun, gym sessions, swimming and wheelchair rugby.
As part of the role, you will accompany our client to wheelchair rugby training sessions and matches, including travel when required. Your support will include assisting with transfers, helping with, and providing personal care before, during and after training or competition.

Because this will be my 3rd year, I have already made strong friendships and it's really important to me that care is done discreetly and isn't overbearing, so I can still socialise privately with my friends. In my spare time, I like to craft, watch films with friends, and go on nature walks. I also play wheelchair rugby every week in Aylesbury, with matches and tournaments every couple of months something I'll continue next year. I'm hoping to find a good balance between social life and work this year.
As this is my first time having a PA, we'll need to work together on what support looks like day to day. I have cerebral palsy, a neurological condition that affects all areas of my body but mainly my legs, core and hands. I use an electric-assist manual wheelchair and need help with transfers, showering, using the toilet, getting ready, and making meals. I don't usually need much night care, but this may change if I'm unwell.
As a 20-year-old student, it's important to me that you can do basic hairstyles (plaits, ponytails, messy buns), use straighteners or curlers, and are comfortable doing makeup on someone else. I'll also need help contributing to flat meals, as my friend and I are planning to cook together, plus some basic cleaning like washing up, laundry and tidying. I'm looking for someone with whom I can establish a good working relationship, and together we can develop an approach that suits us both.

Duties will include:
- Personal Care / Dressing, toileting, transfers and personal hygiene
- Health Care / Supporting independence at university and at home
- Daily Living / Meal preparation and general daily support
- Social & Travel / Accompanying and assisting at social activities, sport and travel
- Housekeeping / Domestic duties, including cleaning and laundry
