Role Summary
This position is vital in driving our Client's strategic expansion in the space economy.
As part of their UK operations, you will contribute to the development of advanced space sensors and communication technology for exploration and operational missions.
This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on high-stakes projects that push the boundaries of current technology and inspire the next generation of space innovations.
Your expertise will play a key role in designing and verifying FPGA solutions essential for high-reliability space systems.
Responsibilities
Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to develop satellite telecommunication payloads across various orbits and mission profiles.
Translate subsystem requirements into FPGA architectures and design specifications.
Conduct verification activities for FPGAs used in high-reliability space applications.
Architect, design, and implement complex FPGA solutions using Microchip devices tailored for space environments.
Develop intellectual property (IP) cores for AMD System-on-Chips (So Cs).
Ensure designs meet the stringent standards for space and high-reliability applications, including signal integrity and robustness.
Essential Skills & Experience
Minimum of 10 years' experience in FPGA engineering within the space or high-reliability sectors.
Strong understanding of FPGA technology applicable to space systems.
Proficiency in VHDL and System Verilog hardware description languages.
Hands-on experience with FPGA design tools such as Vivado, Model Sim, and Libero.
Solid knowledge of digital communications and digital signal processing (DSP).
Previous experience leading complex FPGA projects in high-reliability contexts.
Right to work in UK
Desirable Skills & Experience
Expertise in design and analysis for high-reliability applications like space, military, or automotive sectors.
Familiarity with Low Earth Orbit (LEO) and Geostationary Earth Orbit (GEO) communication payloads.
Skills in signal integrity analysis and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC).
