A Director of Strategic Accounts opportunity has opened up with a well-established digital healthcare business operating at the forefront of physician engagement. This is a genuinely exciting senior sales role combining portfolio management with active business development across a named account base. Ready to own high-value client relationships and drive meaningful revenue growth in a sector that matters?
The Role
The Director of Strategic Accounts will take full ownership of a portfolio of four to six named accounts, each carrying significant existing revenue alongside substantial scope for further expansion. This means identifying growth opportunities across under-engaged brands, developing consultative proposals that are strategically tailored to each client's objectives, and closing new business with confidence and credibility. The role is not transactional β it calls for a genuine understanding of each client's commercial landscape and the ability to position integrated digital solutions accordingly.
Day to day, you will maintain accurate pipeline and forecast data, oversee successful campaign delivery in collaboration with programme management teams, and ensure clients are receiving the highest standard of service throughout. There is also a European dimension to this role, with some international travel expected as part of the growth strategy.
The Company
This role sits within an established digital healthcare business that forms part of a larger international group operating across life sciences and healthcare innovation. The organisation runs a closed professional community used daily by a substantial number of doctors across the UK, offering a range of digital engagement solutions including medical education, content platforms, and targeted communications for the pharmaceutical and wider healthcare sector. It is a business with real scale, a credible product suite, and a clear mission β supporting healthcare professionals throughout their careers.
What experience does the Director of Strategic Accounts need?
- A strong, demonstrable background in B2B sales or business development within the pharmaceutical or broader healthcare sector, with a focus on selling digital or strategically aligned solutions.
- A track record of growing revenue within named accounts alongside the ability to pursue and convert new business opportunities β comfortable owning targets and working with autonomy.
- Exceptional relationship-building skills at senior client levels, including existing contacts across pharma or healthcare, and the confidence to lead consultative conversations from first engagement through to close.
- Hands-on, self-starting approach suited to lean team environments β this is an execution-focused role requiring someone who is as comfortable shaping a proposal as they are attending client meetings or representing the business at industry events.
