SPAW Engineering is a growing precision engineering company supplying high-quality components to leading European Turbocharger manufacturers. Due to continued expansion, we are looking to strengthen our production team with additional CNC Setter/Operators across our current shift patterns.

We are looking for both experienced CNC Setters and CNC Operators looking to develop their skills. Full training and support will be provided for the right candidates.

Available Shifts & Pay Rates

  • Day Shift: Monday - Thursday, 8:00am - 6:00pm £13.11 - £15.81 per hour (depending on experience)
  • Night Shift: Monday - Thursday, 8:00pm - 8:00am £16.18 - £19.76 per hour (depending on experience)
  • Weekend Shift: Friday - Sunday, 8:00am - 8:00pm £16.18 - £19.76 per hour (depending on experience)

The Role

As a CNC Setter/Operator, you will be responsible for producing precision components to customer-controlled standards using modern CNC machining equipment.

Experienced Setters will be responsible for:

  • Setting CNC machining centres and/or lathes using Fanuc controls
  • Changing tooling, fixtures, jigs and jaws between production runs
  • Setting work offsets and referencing tool lengths
  • Proving out approved CNC programs safely
  • Making minor programme adjustments to achieve customer specifications
  • Using gauges and measuring equipment to maintain tight tolerances
  • Identifying and resolving machining issues
  • Supporting and training less experienced operators

About You

Ideally, you will have:

  • Previous CNC machining experience
  • Experience setting CNC machining centres and/or lathes
  • Fanuc control experience (preferred)
  • The ability to read engineering drawings and work to tight tolerances
  • A quality-focused approach and good attention to detail

However, we also welcome applications from motivated CNC Operators who want to develop into skilled Setters, as full training is available.
