About the Role We are recruiting for a Transport Planner to join a well-established fuel distribution business based in Okehampton.
This is an excellent opportunity to join an employee-owned company known for its supportive culture, local reputation, and commitment to operational excellence.
Working within a busy transport and logistics environment, you will be responsible for coordinating daily fleet operations, managing stock control processes, and supporting the efficient running of the depot.
You will work closely with drivers, customers, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure excellent service and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities Plan and schedule daily deliveries for a fleet of up to 10 drivers.
Manage stock control and accurately record all stock movements in and out of the depot.
Complete transport administration including tachograph reports, incident reports, driver defect sheets, and order confirmations.
Liaise with customers, suppliers, drivers, and the sales team to coordinate delivery requirements.
Arrange vehicle servicing, inspections, repairs, and conduct daily driver debriefs. _______________________________________________________________________ About You
Essential: Previous experience within transport planning or logistics operations.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel.
Desirable: Knowledge of driver hours regulations and tachograph legislation.
Experience working within a transport, fuel distribution, or logistics environment.
A proactive approach with the ability to identify process improvements.
