An immediate opportunity has become available for an experienced Freelance Site Manager to provide four weeks' holiday cover on a live residential development in Okehampton.
Working for one of the UK's most respected national housebuilders, you'll be joining a well-established development delivering a high-quality collection of energy-efficient new homes. This is a hands-on site management role, requiring someone who can confidently oversee daily operations and maintain programme, quality and health & safety standards throughout the duration of the assignment.
The Role
- You will be taking the day-to-day running of the site during this 4-week freelance contract.
- You'll coordinate subcontractors, monitor progress against programme, carry out quality inspections, ensure health and safety compliance, and maintain excellent site standards while supporting the successful delivery of the development.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day operation of a live residential construction site.
- Coordinate and supervise subcontractors to ensure works are completed safely and efficiently.
- Monitor programme and maintain productivity throughout the project.
- Carry out quality inspections and manage snagging where required.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental legislation.
- Deliver site inductions, toolbox talks and regular safety inspections.
- Liaise with the Project Manager and wider site team to ensure smooth project delivery.
- Maintain accurate site records, diaries and progress reports.
- Ensure work is completed to NHBC standards and current building regulations.
Requirements
- Previous experience managing new build housing developments.
- Valid SMSTS.
- CSCS Card.
- First Aid at Work.
- Strong understanding of NHBC standards and current building regulations.
- Excellent communication, leadership and organisational skills.
- Available to start on Thursday 6th August for the full 4-week freelance assignment.
