Hays Education is supporting 2 Councils to recruit contract to permanent qualified Occupational Therapists for roles in the Kingston/Sutton area for up to 12-month contracts or to go permanent. These positions offer the opportunity to work within mainstream and specialist education settings supporting children and young people with a wide range of additional and complex needs. Roles are likely to be at multiple schools.

The role as an Occupational Therapist within an SEN school includes:

  • Assessing pupils' functional, sensory, and motor needs
  • Delivering individual and group-based OT interventions
  • Supporting pupils with sensory integration, fine and gross motor skills
  • Contributing to EHCP outcomes and multidisciplinary planning
  • Working collaboratively with teaching staff, SENCOs, therapists and families
  • Providing practical strategies to support access to learning and daily activities

Roles are available on an up to 12-month contract or permanent basis, depending on school needs and your availability.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Occupational Therapy
  • HCPC registration
  • Experience working with children or young people with SEN (education or clinical settings)
  • Strong communication and collaborative working skills
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
