Our client is a highly regarded specialist in luxury bespoke joinery and furniture, creating beautifully crafted interiors for prestigious designers, high-profile clients and discerning homeowners worldwide. Combining traditional English carpentry techniques with modern manufacturing methods, they create exceptional bespoke pieces where craftsmanship, functionality and contemporary design come together.

They are now looking for a Senior Technical Designer to take approved design concepts through to fully detailed technical drawings and production information for manufacture and installation. Working closely with senior management, clients, production teams and installers, you will act as the key link between sales, design, production and installation, ensuring projects are technically accurate, commercially viable and delivered to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities are to:

  • Develop approved designs into detailed technical drawings and production information for bespoke kitchens, cabinetry, furniture and joinery.
  • Undertake site surveys and support installation and production teams throughout the project.
  • Liaise with clients, designers, suppliers and contractors, resolving technical queries and identifying potential issues.
  • Support CNC programming, machining requirements and the efficient manufacture of bespoke components.
  • Manage multiple projects and deadlines, ensuring quality, accuracy and commercial considerations are maintained.
  • Make day-to-day technical decisions and recommend design modifications where these improve functionality, manufacturability or installation.

About You as a Senior Technical Designer:

  • Experience in technical design within bespoke kitchens, cabinetry, furniture, joinery or high-end interior fit-out.
  • Strong understanding of cabinet construction, materials, hardware and manufacturing processes.
  • You will have excellent technical drawing skills and be proficient in AutoCAD.
  • Experience programming CNC machinery and knowledge of CNC tooling, nesting and machining strategies.
  • Organised, commercially aware and comfortable managing multiple projects.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail and the ability to communicate effectively.
