We're recruiting on behalf of a UK cyber security technology organisation for a Technical Pre-Sales Consultant to join their team. This is a role for someone who can bridge the gap between sales and engineering. You'll run technical demonstrations, lead proof of concepts, and act as the technical voice in front of customers, from initial discovery through to RFP and RFI response.
You'll be comfortable designing solutions and architectures tailored to a customer's environment, not just presenting a fixed script. You'll own the technical content in bids and proposals, and you'll be trusted to build long term relationships with end users, Government Contractor Primes, and other key stakeholders in the defence and public sector space.
What you'll be doing:
- Running discovery conversations to understand a customer's technical environment and requirements
- Delivering tailored demonstrations and proof of concepts that prove the solution works for that customer
- Designing solutions, including hardware and software sizing and architecture planning
- Leading the technical content in RFPs, RFIs, and proposals
- Supporting the sales team as their technical partner in client meetings
- Feeding market and competitive intelligence back into the business
- Working closely with product and engineering on feature feedback
What we're looking for:
- Strong working knowledge of security principles and security enforcing measures
- Good understanding of cyber security and IT technologies
- Solid grasp of networking principles
- Experience with public and private cloud infrastructure
- A track record of designing high level architectures and translating requirements into detailed technical designs
- Excellent written and spoken communication, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences alike
- Comfortable working directly with Government Contractor Primes and public sector stakeholders
This is a senior, client facing technical role for someone who wants ownership of the full technical sales cycle, not just supporting it.
