Multi Trades Recruitment are recruiting for a BMS Service Engineer to join a growing Smart Buildings division delivering innovative building management solutions across a range of commercial, healthcare, education, government and MOD sites. This is an excellent temp to perm opportunity for an experienced BMS Engineer looking to work with the latest smart building technologies, with excellent benefits, career progression and manufacturer training.

About the Job:

  • Mobile role covering Nottingham area - (may be asked to cover Mansfield, Stoke, Peterborough, Boston, Grimsby, Derby, Leicester)
  • 13/07/26 - 18/10/26 (Temp to perm)
  • Monday to Friday, 07:00 - 19:00 (Flexible)
  • Occasional evening and weekend work required
  • Up to £27.26 Per Hour (depending on experience)
  • Uniform provided
  • Electric company car provided (lease vehicle upon permanent employment)
  • Full UK driving licence required

Job Overview:

  • Install, configure and commission Building Management System (BMS) equipment
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance on Trend, Tridium, Distech and other BMS systems
  • Diagnose and repair faults on HVAC and building control systems
  • Participate in the reactive call-out rota with additional on-call payments
  • Provide technical support and advice to customers on BMS systems
  • Identify opportunities to improve building performance and energy efficiency
  • Produce quotations and proposals for remedial and improvement works
  • Read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematic drawings
  • Build strong relationships with customers across multiple client sites
  • Work across schools, hospitals, MOD sites and government estates
  • Complete accurate service reports and technical documentation
  • Receive ongoing manufacturer and product training to further develop your skills

About You:

  • City & Guilds, BTEC or NVQ qualification in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
  • Strong experience working with Building Management Systems (BMS) and HVAC controls
  • Experience with Trend, Tridium, Niagara, Distech or Siemens systems
  • Excellent fault-finding and diagnostic skills on electrical control panels
  • Able to read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics
  • Good understanding of IT networks and communications
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD
  • Previous controls engineering experience
  • Strong report writing and communication skills
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Self-motivated, organised and able to work independently across multiple sites
  • Customer-focused with a professional and proactive approach
