We are working with an established organisation is looking for a Vehicle & Plant Technician to join its team in Northampton. You will be responsible for maintaining and repairing a fleet of vehicles and plant, helping to ensure equipment remains safe, reliable and compliant with relevant standards.
Key responsibilities
Carry out preventative maintenance, servicing and repairs on vehicles and plant.
Inspect vehicles in line with Department for Transport standards and complete relevant inspections and reports.
Service and maintain vehicles and plant in line with manufacturer recommendations.
Help minimise equipment downtime, including de-fleeting vehicles and plant when required.
Raise work orders, process inspection and service reports, and order parts through the relevant system.
The ideal candidate
City & Guilds qualification in light or heavy vehicle mechanics.
Extensive experience repairing and maintaining commercial vehicles and plant.
Experience using fleet management systems and confidence with computer-based systems.
A strong understanding of Health & Safety requirements, with the ability to make cost-effective decisions without compromising safety.
Good communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues and external suppliers.
The role is full time, working 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Flexible working opportunities are available and can be discussed during the interview process.
