The company is a growing local business, part of a multi-billion-pound global manufacturer, at their flagship UK site. They are looking for an experienced Shift Engineer, mechanically biased, to work a shift rota that provides 90 days off a year plus additional off days between shifts.
Role & Responsibilities:
- Maintain all production, processing & packaging machinery
- Electrical & mechanical fault finding and repairs
- Complete PPM & TPM schedules
- Dealing with motors, conveyors, PLCs, gearboxes, drives, sensors, hydraulics, pneumatics
- Project work - new machine installs and continuous improvements
- Ordering spares, parts and maintaining site CMMS
Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
- Multi-skilled engineer with a mechanical bias
- Experience working on industrial production, processing & packaging machinery
- At least 5 years' experience outside of apprenticeship
- Ideally completed a formal apprenticeship scheme
- NVQ or City Guilds qualified to level 3 or higher
- Willingness to work a rotating shift pattern with holidays built into a yearly rota
- Computer literate - able to use SAP systems / CMMS
- Experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, PLCs, control panels, gearboxes
- Beneficial if able to do welding, fabrication and fitting work
- Passionate about reliability engineering, continuous improvements, asset care management
