As a Field Service Technician, you will service and maintain world-class CNC machinery at customer sites across the Northampton and Milton Keynes area, and you will be home most nights. Job Responsibilities

  • Carrying out scheduled preventative maintenance on CNC machinery to minimise downtime
  • Diagnosing and resolving mechanical faults quickly and effectively
  • Replacing, adjusting and aligning mechanical components to meet specification
  • Conducting inspections and completing detailed service reports
  • Providing basic operator guidance to customers following maintenance visits
  • Liaising with the technical support team when additional expertise is required
  • Maintaining your tools, equipment and service vehicle to a high standard
  • Travelling to customer sites within your local patch, with minimal overnight stays
  • Building your product knowledge through ongoing training and development
  • Ensuring all work is completed in line with health and safety requirements

Skills and Experience

  • A mechanical engineering background, ideally within maintenance or service roles
  • Hands-on experience with machinery, lathes or other mechanical equipment, with CNC experience beneficial but not essential
  • Good problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently
  • Comfort travelling within a local patch and dealing with customers on site
  • A full UK driving licence
  • A professional approach with good communication skills
  • Most importantly, a genuine desire to learn and grow, as full training is provided and electrical or product knowledge is not required

Pay and Benefits

  • Salary up to £30,000 depending on experience
  • OTE circa £37,000 with bonuses
  • Monday to Friday, 39 hours per week
  • A company car (VW Tiguan or BMW X1)
