Class 2 HIAB Driver - Northampton Quest Employment is recruiting an experienced Class 2 HIAB Driver on behalf of a well-established business based in Northampton.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a successful company offering a permanent position with consistent weekday hours, competitive pay and a supportive working environment.
The successful candidate will be responsible for operating an 18-tonne HIAB vehicle, delivering building materials safely and efficiently to customers across Northamptonshire and surrounding areas.
Key Responsibilities Operate an 18-tonne Class 2 HIAB vehicle safely and professionally.
Deliver building materials to construction sites, trade customers, residential addresses and new developments.
Complete deliveries across Northamptonshire and neighbouring counties.
Load and unload materials using HIAB equipment.
Ensure all loads are secured correctly before transport.
Carry out daily vehicle safety checks and report any defects.
Follow all road transport legislation and company health and safety procedures.
Maintain a high standard of customer service at every delivery.
Support the branch team when required.
Develop product knowledge and build strong customer relationships.
Candidate Requirements The ideal candidate will have:
A valid Class 2 (Category C) driving licence.
A valid Driver CPC qualification.
A valid Digital Tachograph Card.
A valid HIAB licence (with at least six months remaining preferred).
Previous experience operating HIAB equipment.
Previous HGV Class 2 delivery driving experience.
Flatbed vehicle experience (desirable).
A clean driving licence.
Be aged 21 or over due to insurance requirements.
Excellent knowledge of road safety and safe loading procedures.
Strong communication and customer service skills.
A reliable, flexible and professional approach.
The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Working Hours Monday to Friday.
7:00am 4:00pm or 7:30am 4:30pm.
Occasional Saturday mornings (approximately one in every five weeks for around two hours).
