We are working with a leading and growing accountancy and business advisory firm that is looking to recruit a Tax Semi-Senior or Senior to join its established tax team. The firm supports a broad SME client base across the UK and Ireland, offering trusted advice through close client relationships and a collaborative approach.

The successful candidate will work with a varied portfolio of clients, supporting them with their tax compliance obligations while building strong professional relationships and delivering a high standard of service. Working as part of a supportive tax team, the role will involve managing deadlines, preparing and reviewing tax work, and contributing to the smooth delivery of client assignments.
For candidates operating at Senior level, there will also be the opportunity to take on greater ownership of client work, support junior colleagues, and contribute to ongoing improvements within the department.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide a high level of service to a portfolio of clients, ensuring work is delivered accurately and on time.
- Prepare and/or review personal tax returns in line with internal procedures and statutory requirements.
- Support clients with tax compliance matters, including statements of account, PAYE codes, and general tax queries.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a professional point of contact for tax-related matters.
- Carry out dividend planning for company directors.
- Prepare income and expenditure accounts.
- Prepare tax returns for individuals, partnerships, and trusts.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with clients, both verbally and in writing.
- Support senior colleagues with workflow management, deadlines, and client expectations.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes and contribute to efficient ways of working.
- Ensure work is completed in line with legal, regulatory, and internal standards.
- Represent the firm professionally and maintain a high standard of conduct at all times.
Senior-Level Responsibilities
- Review work prepared by junior team members, ensuring accuracy and quality.
- Supervise, mentor, and support junior colleagues in their continued development.
- Take greater ownership of client relationships and day-to-day portfolio management.
- Contribute to wider team initiatives, including innovation, process improvement, and service delivery enhancements.
About You
- ATT qualified, part-qualified, or actively working towards the qualification.
- Previous experience preparing tax returns and supporting a client portfolio.
- At least 2-3 years experience in tax, ideally gained within an accountancy practice environment.
- Experience within personal and/or corporate tax in practice.
- Strong technical knowledge and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
- Working towards or qualified in a relevant professional qualification, such as ATT, CTA, or equivalent.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
- Confident communication skills and a client-focused approach.
- A collaborative team player who enjoys sharing knowledge and supporting others.
