Are you a motivated Junior Accounts Assistant with experience in a small to medium-sized accountancy practice? We're looking for someone like you to join our friendly team in North Shields! This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with solid accounts preparation experience who is looking to grow their career in a supportive and professional environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare year-end accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies
- Handle bookkeeping using Xero, QuickBooks, and Sage
- Prepare and submit VAT returns
- Assist with management accounts and general reconciliations
- Liaise with clients to collect documentation and answer queries
- Support the wider team with day-to-day accounting tasks
Person Specification:
- 2 years' experience in a UK accountancy practice
- Comfortable preparing accounts and working with accounting software
- Knowledge of VAT, bookkeeping, and basic accounting principles
- Strong attention to detail and a proactive attitude
- AAT Level 3 (or working towards) or similar qualification preferred
