Volunteer Coordinator in Newport

Working with children and young people to be safe, happy, healthy and hopeful. Barnardos Mentora is recruiting a Volunteer Coordinator to join our team! The Mentora Service is part of Barnardos Newport Connect. It provides support to children, young people and families across Newport, through a bank of fully trained volunteers. They deliver fun and informative Family Hubs, with the addition of offering a 1-2-1 Befriending service.

In this rewarding role, you will establish, develop and sustain volunteering services to meet project and operational needs. You will play a key part in recruiting, supporting and developing volunteers, ensuring they have a positive and meaningful volunteering experience while helping to deliver high-quality services.

We are looking for:

• An outgoing, confident and skilled communicator who is able to build trusting relationships and influence people.
• You will feel confident to speak to people from a wide range of backgrounds with the ability to proactively seek out opportunities to build partnerships and promote the project.
• You will be a self-motivated, committed person with experience of working and/or volunteering in the homelessness, housing or voluntary and community sector.
