Multi Skilled Electrician in Newport

About the vacancy: Join our Maintenance Team and play a key role in delivering high-quality repairs, installations, and compliance works across residents' homes and community assets. We are seeking a qualified Multi-Skilled Electrician with strong electrical testing, fault-finding, and installation experience, alongside practical skills in carpentry and plumbing.

In this role you'll undertake a wide range of electrical maintenance and improvement works, ensure compliance with current regulations, provide excellent customer service, and work collaboratively within a multi-trade team. Participation in an out-of-hours callout rota is required. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled and customer-focused electrician looking to make a real difference within local communities.

Specifically, in the role you will:

• Possess practical, productive and electrical engineering skills with adequate technical knowledge to work independently and carry out electrical installation work efficiently.
• Work from drawings, specifications and requisition necessary installation materials, accepting responsibility for accurate completion of jobs.
• Design and construct electrical installations, full and part rewires adhering to current IEE Wiring Regulations.
• Maintain and certify all areas of the business; commercial and domestic properties, including external lighting.
• Undertake works from minor repairs to installation of new circuits, completing relevant testing and certification.
• Complete all relevant electrical testing and safety certificates, including installation and condition reports.
• Install, maintain, diagnose faults and repair a range of heating systems and controls.
• Install, maintain, diagnose faults and repair a range of door entry systems.
• Undertake cyclical testing of emergency lighting and fire alarm systems, ensuring compliance with regulations.
• Mentor, coach and develop apprentices and other staff members.
• Ensure all repairs are completed within specified time periods to required standards.
• Drive an allocated works vehicle in line with the driver handbook, pre-inspecting and obtaining necessary resources.
• Accurately record work time, materials and plant used to complete repairs.
• Ensure safe use and storage of any plant issued, reporting defects as necessary.
• Conduct daily safety checks of the allocated works vehicle and record findings appropriately.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues and stakeholders across the business.
• Work safely and appropriately to meet duties and responsibilities within Health and Safety policies.
• Participate in the Out of Hours Callout Rota.
