We're looking for a dedicated Fire Safety Technician to join our Property & Place team, helping to keep residents safe by ensuring fire doors across our housing stock are compliant, well-maintained and fit for purpose.
The role involves inspecting, assessing, repairing and installing fire doors, identifying any defects, and working closely with colleagues and contractors to ensure fire safety standards are consistently met. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with fire door inspection and installation experience who is passionate about delivering high-quality work and making a real difference to customer safety.
Specifically, in the role you will:
- Conduct regular inspections of fire doors installed in Hedyn's properties managed by the housing association to assess their overall condition, functionality, and compliance with fire safety regulations.
- Accurately identify and document any deficiencies or issues found during inspections, such as damaged doors, faulty hardware, inadequate seals, or improper installations.
- Complete minor fire door repairs and adjustments as required.
- Maintain detailed records of each fire door inspection (utilising software packages where appropriate), including findings, recommendations, and corrective actions taken to ensure compliance and track progress over time.
- Provide clear and concise recommendations for repairs, replacements, or improvements needed to rectify any issues or non-compliance identified during inspections.
- Collaborate with contractors, maintenance teams, or relevant departments to schedule and oversee necessary repairs or replacements of fire doors.
- To undergo any training as required by Hedyn to assist you to develop within your role.
- Report to Fire Safety Team Leader.
- To install fire doors or address any immediate defects which pose risk to customers, as either instructed or identified.
- The post holder will be expected to undertake any other reasonable duties within their capabilities and the scope of the post as specified by their line manager.
