People Solutions are currently recruiting for a 3.5 Tonne Driver based in Kelso, Scottish Borders. This is a fantastic opportunity offering ongoing work and genuine potential for progression. This role would suit applicants that have worked in a role of Delivery Driver, Van Driver or Courier.

You must undergo a DS/DBS check for this role.

Shifts: Monday to Friday, Start times between 05:00 and 06:00

Rates of Pay: £12.71 per hour

Day-to-Day Duties:

  • Multi-drop deliveries (approximately 20–25 drops per day)
  • Loading and unloading boxes and packages
  • Loading the vehicle for the following day's routes
  • Ensuring all loads are safe and secure
  • Completing vehicle inspections and reporting faults
  • Operating a 3.5 tonne refrigerated van safely and efficiently
  • Maintaining accurate delivery records and paperwork
  • Communicating effectively with staff at delivery locations
  • Adhering to food hygiene regulations
  • Monitoring and maintaining correct refrigeration temperatures

Essential Skills:

  • Previous multi-drop experience (preferred)
  • Valid UK Category B licence, held for at least two years (some points considered)
  • Strong knowledge of vehicle operation and driving regulations
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to identify and report vehicle safety issues
  • Good knowledge of road networks and navigation tools
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines and use own initiative
  • Must undergo a DS/DBS check (good repute required)

Desirable Experience:

  • Experience driving commercial vehicles
  • Basic food hygiene knowledge (training provided)

Training:

  • Internal food hygiene training
  • Vehicle maintenance and safety training
  • Compliance and regulatory training
