Our client is a successful and growing food manufacturing business seeking an Engineering Manager to lead the engineering function at one of their key production facilities. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineering leader to join a fast-paced manufacturing environment where reliability, continuous improvement and people development are key priorities.
The Role
Working a 4 on 4 off days shift pattern (6:30am - 7:00pm), you will lead a team of seven engineers, ensuring the site operates safely and efficiently whilst delivering maximum equipment uptime. Key responsibilities include:
- Leading, coaching and developing a team of engineers
- Managing planned and reactive maintenance activities
- Driving engineering performance through effective use of the CMMS system
- Managing contractors and engineering service providers
- Supporting the implementation of Red Zone methodology
- Delivering continuous improvement and reliability initiatives
- Working closely with production teams to minimise downtime
- Ensuring compliance with all engineering and health & safety requirements
The site operates a range of automated production equipment, including depositors, multihead weighers and packaging machinery.
The Person
We are keen to speak with Engineering Managers, Engineering Supervisors or Team Leaders from food manufacturing, FMCG or other fast-paced production environments. You will possess:
- Proven experience leading and developing engineering teams
- Strong coaching, training and people management skills
- Experience managing contractors
- Good working knowledge of CMMS systems
- Experience maintaining automated production equipment
- Strong preventative maintenance and continuous improvement expertise
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
