Location: Mirfield WF14

Hours: Rotating shift pattern Monday-Friday 06:15-14:15/14:15-06:15 or Monday-Friday Fixed Nights 22:15-06:15

Pay Rate: £14 per hour (Rotating), £15.35 per hour (Nights)

AQUMEN Recruitment is recruiting for an experienced Shunter Team Leader to join a busy logistics operation. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone with a background in shunting, transport or yard operations, combining daily shunter driving duties with leading the on-site team to ensure trailers and vehicles are managed safely and efficiently.

As a Shunter Team Leader, you will oversee daily yard movements, coordinate the shunter team and work closely with warehouse, production and transport teams to maintain a smooth and efficient operation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate the daily shunter team and yard activities.
  • Plan and manage trailer movements across site.
  • Carry out shunter driving duties when required.
  • Maintain accurate trailer tracking and operational records.
  • Liaise with warehouse, production and transport teams.
  • Ensure safe working practices and compliance with transport procedures.

What We're Looking For

  • Previous experience as a Shunter Driver, Shunter Team Leader, Yard Supervisor or within a transport/logistics environment.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • Confident leading a team and managing day-to-day operations.
  • Good IT skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Previous supervisory experience is advantageous.
