Pertemps are recruiting on behalf of our client in Milton Keynes for a Transport Clerk to join their busy and fast-paced transport department on a night shift basis. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with transport, logistics or administration experience who is looking for a long-term role with genuine opportunities to progress within the transport operation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Pre-brief and de-brief drivers at the start and end of their shifts
  • Support the transport team with daily administrative duties
  • Process and maintain transport, delivery and POD documentation
  • Monitor vehicle movements and delivery schedules
  • Liaise with drivers, warehouse teams and customers where required
  • Update internal transport management systems accurately
  • Investigate and escalate delivery issues, delays or driver queries
  • Ensure all compliance records are maintained correctly
  • Produce reports and complete general transport administration
  • Carry out other transport office duties as required to support the operation
What We're Looking For
  • Previous experience within a transport, logistics or distribution environment is desirable
  • Strong administrative and organisational skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Confident communication skills with the ability to build relationships with drivers and colleagues
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office
  • Ability to work under pressure in a busy transport office
  • Reliable, punctual and able to work independently on night shifts
