Overview
We are seeking an experienced Technical Architect to support a major government organisation in the delivery and ongoing management of critical national security capabilities. This role will involve working closely with customers, engineering teams, development teams and senior stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery, design and evolution of key technology solutions. The successful candidate will act as the technical authority across the environment, providing architecture leadership, governance, design oversight and stakeholder engagement for a business-critical product. This is an excellent opportunity for an architect who enjoys working in complex, secure environments and can bridge the gap between business requirements and technical delivery while maintaining strong relationships with government stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the Technical Architect for key national security and government capability programmes.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and stakeholders across government departments.
- Work closely with engineering and development teams to support the delivery of technical solutions.
- Lead customer and stakeholder workshops, translating business requirements into technical solutions.
- Provide technical leadership and 4th line technical oversight for complex customer issues.
- Produce and maintain high-level and low-level solution designs.
- Conduct impact assessments for functional, technical, capability and security changes.
- Review, analyse and approve project requests and technology changes.
- Ensure architectural compliance with organisational standards, principles, patterns and best practices.
- Support governance forums, architecture reviews and CTO Office activities.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and provide recommendations on technical options, benefits and costs.
- Work collaboratively across technical and business teams to deliver customer-focused outcomes.
Required Experience
- Strong experience engaging with customers, business stakeholders and senior technical teams.
- Experience operating within an ITIL-based environment.
- Experience working with software vendors and development teams to enhance and improve software solutions.
- Proven experience collaborating with engineering teams to deliver customer and business outcomes.
- Experience working within complex, secure or government environments.
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Demonstrable experience producing technical designs, impact assessments and governance artefacts.
