Field Service Engineer (Switchgear) South England (London – Midlands) Experience Dependent + Bonus + Commercial Vehicle + Private Medical Join a global engineering company in their growing engineering services team delivering maintenance, diagnostics and technical support for critical power distribution systems across a diverse customer base.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Field Service Engineer with expertise in LV/MV switchgear to work on a variety of industrial, commercial and critical infrastructure sites, helping customers maintain safe, reliable and efficient electrical systems.

Responsibilities - Field Service Engineer (Switchgear) Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on LV and MV switchgear and associated power distribution equipment.

Diagnose electrical and mechanical faults, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions.

Perform inspection, testing, troubleshooting and repair activities to minimise customer downtime.

Deliver field service activities safely, efficiently and in line with customer requirements and company standards.

Produce detailed service reports, material requirements and maintenance documentation.

Build strong relationships with customers, providing technical advice and identifying opportunities for system improvements.

Ensure all works are completed in accordance with health, safety, quality and environmental procedures.

Support and mentor junior engineers and technicians where required.

Participate in commissioning, upgrades and modernisation projects when necessary.

Represent the business professionally whilst providing a high level of customer service.

Experience / Qualifications - Field Service Engineer (Switchgear) Degree, HNC, HND or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.

Minimum 3 years' experience within a Field Service, Maintenance or Service Engineering environment.

Strong knowledge of LV and/or MV switchgear systems and power distribution equipment.

Experience carrying out fault finding, diagnostics, inspection and testing activities.

Understanding of electrical safety procedures, risk assessments and safe systems of work.

Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and technical documentation.

Strong customer-facing skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly.

Self-motivated with excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.

Full UK Driving Licence.

Experience with OEM switchgear manufacturers or critical power infrastructure environments would be advantageous.
