As an Application Engineer, you will be part of our Sales & Marketing team, providing technical expertise to customers and internal colleagues. You will help understand customer needs, recommend suitable solutions, and support the sales process through technical discussions, demonstrations, and presentations. This is a varied, customer-facing role where your engineering knowledge and communication skills will help build strong relationships and support business growth.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide technical expertise and support during customer meetings, presentations, demonstrations, and product evaluations.
- Understand customer requirements and recommend appropriate products and engineered solutions.
- Act as a trusted technical advisor, building strong customer relationships and delivering excellent customer support.
- Support sales growth by identifying opportunities and effectively communicating the value of technical solutions.
- Work closely with the sales team to develop and progress customer opportunities.
- Gather customer feedback and market insights to support product and service improvements.
- Contribute technical expertise to marketing activities, including promotional materials and campaigns.
- Represent the company at trade shows, exhibitions, webinars, seminars, and other customer-facing events.
- Degree in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering (or equivalent).
- Experience providing technical support within an engineering environment.
- Strong customer focus with excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly to customers and colleagues.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organisational skills.
- Self-motivated, able to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Willingness to travel internationally when required.
- Experience with transmission/driveline design and analysis and engineering software such as SMT MASTA or equivalent.
- Knowledge of programming tools such as Python, MATLAB, or .NET is advantageous.
- Experience delivering technical training and preparing technical documentation is desirable.
