Holcim is seeking a talented Estimator - Civils & Infrastructure to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in securing high-profile off-highway surfacing projects, spanning everything from major distribution centres to vital school infrastructure. Working within a collaborative, forward-thinking environment, you will prepare comprehensive "first principle" estimates, analyse detailed tender documentation, and manage our bid pipeline to the highest professional standards. This is a permanent position offering a modern hybrid working model, with flexibility across our Marlow and Bardon Hill locations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work Winning & Tendering: Analyse drawings, specifications, and Bills of Quantities (BoQ) to identify project requirements, source competitive subcontractor quotations, and provide seamless project handovers to commercial teams.
- Commercial Support: Support the achievement of monthly tonnage and margin targets, participate in technical value engineering discussions with Tier 1 and Tier 2 partners, and precision-price projects using current material and labour cost data.
- Relationship Management: Build strong connections with pre-construction teams and end-clients (such as developers and education authorities), while collaborating closely with internal operations teams to manage site-specific risks.
- Pipeline Management: Utilise Salesforce CRM to track progress, support Business Development Managers in identifying new opportunities, and ensure all tender deadlines are met smoothly.
Who you are
- Experienced Professional: Estimating experience within the surfacing or civil engineering sector, ideally with a proven track record of pricing industrial, retail, or education projects.
- Technical Expert: Highly proficient in industry-standard estimating software (such as Causeway, Candy, or advanced Excel systems) and possess the ability to perform accurate digital take-offs from construction drawings.
- Industry Knowledgeable: Strong understanding of asphalt materials (BS EN 13108) and the Manual of Contract Documents for Highway Works (MCHW).
- Contractually Aware: Familiar with JCT and NEC4 contract suites, particularly regarding subcontracting terms.
- Excellent Communicator: Top-tier communication skills, with the ability to confidently translate complex, technical pricing data into clear insights for non-technical stakeholders.
- Results-Oriented: Thrive under pressure, maintain an analytical mindset, and enjoy collaborating with wider commercial teams to secure successful outcomes.
