In a nutshell
Our client is looking for an experienced Sales Estimator to join their Sales team. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with strong commercial awareness to play a key role in estimating, tendering and securing new orders.
Working closely with customers, Sales and Engineering, you will be responsible for preparing accurate tenders, supporting contract handovers and maintaining strong customer relationships throughout the enquiry and order process.
What's involved for the Sales Estimator
Prepare accurate and competitive sales tenders, working closely with the wider Sales team.
Build and maintain strong relationships with potential customers throughout the enquiry process.
Ensure all estimates and tenders are prepared in line with the company's engineering standards, procedures and requirements.
Prepare comprehensive contract documentation ready for handover to the Engineering team and participate in contract handover meetings.
Maintain regular communication with customers throughout the enquiry and post-order stages, ensuring a smooth and professional customer experience.
Work closely with Engineering to ensure customer requirements, agreed build specifications and site works are clearly understood and delivered.
Support the Engineering team with the assessment and management of contract cost variations.
Research and assess new products, suppliers and techniques alongside Sales and Engineering colleagues.
Attend internal meetings and customer meetings at offices or sites as required.
What you'll need
Previous experience in a sales, estimating, engineering or technical environment.
Understanding of engineering products, processes and technical specifications.
Experience preparing estimates, quotations or tenders.
Excellent communication skills
Strong commercial awareness with excellent attention to detail.
Ability to interpret technical information and understand engineering drawings and specifications.
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple enquiries and priorities.
A professional and customer-focused approach.
AutoCAD experience would be advantageous.
