The Role
- Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across manufacturing equipment.
- Diagnosing and repairing electrical faults quickly and effectively.
- Fault finding on PLC-controlled machinery.
- Maintaining three-phase motors, control circuits and variable speed drives.
- Troubleshooting electrical safety circuits and relay logic.
- Reading and interpreting electrical schematics and technical drawings.
- Completing maintenance documentation using the Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
- Supporting continuous improvement projects and equipment upgrades.
- Working safely and complying with all Health & Safety procedures.
- Collaborating with production teams to minimise machine downtime.
Key Skills
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification.
- ONC (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering.
- Strong electrical fault-finding experience within a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with:
- PLC fault diagnosis
- Three-phase motor control
- Relay logic
- AC & DC variable speed drives
- Electrical safety circuits
- Sensors (proximity, optical etc.)
- Experience working with Siemens, Mitsubishi, Omron or Telemecanique equipment.
- Ability to read electrical drawings and schematics.
- Good IT skills and experience using maintenance management systems.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritise workloads and work under pressure.
