ABOUT THE CLIENT
Due to continued growth, we're looking for a Senior Account Manager to join an established and ambitious digital agency based in Manchester. This is a great opportunity for an experienced SEO professional who enjoys combining hands-on technical and strategic SEO with client leadership. You'll take ownership of a portfolio of mid to large accounts, build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders and help deliver measurable organic growth.

THE SENIOR ACCOUNT MANAGER
You'll lead the strategy, delivery and performance of SEO and AI Search campaigns across a portfolio of clients. Working closely with clients and internal teams, you'll develop SEO strategies informed by research, data, competitor analysis and evolving search trends. You'll oversee activity across technical SEO, keyword research, content strategy, site structure, audits and performance monitoring.
You'll also act as a senior point of contact for clients, translating complex SEO challenges into clear commercial recommendations and presenting performance updates, quarterly reviews and longer-term strategies. Alongside account delivery, you'll identify opportunities to grow existing relationships, contribute insight to new business pitches and mentor Account Managers and Executives within the SEO team.
SENIOR ACCOUNT MANAGER - SEO ESSENTIAL SKILLS
- 5+ years' SEO experience within an agency or similarly fast-paced environment
- Strong knowledge across technical, on-page, off-page, mobile and international SEO
- Experience developing and delivering SEO strategies for complex client accounts
- Strong working knowledge of tools such as Ahrefs, SEMrush, Screaming Frog, GA4, Google Search Console and Looker Studio
- Experience with technical areas including JavaScript SEO, crawlability, schema markup and site performance
- Experience delivering projects such as site migrations, international SEO or multi-language rollouts
- Confident managing senior client stakeholders and leading strategic conversations
- Strong understanding of how SEO works alongside PPC, content, UX, CRO and wider digital marketing activity
- Previous line management or mentoring experience
- Commercial mindset with the ability to identify opportunities for account growth
- Excellent organisation and the ability to manage multiple accounts, projects and deadlines
