Role Overview

If you're a Senior Authorised Person with strong HV network experience who wants to step into a project management role, this is a chance to lead delivery on major connections work for a growing distribution network operator. You will be supporting an expanding electricity and gas distribution network operator as it grows its business, adopting and operating multi-utility networks across Britain. This role sits within the engineering function and combines SAP-level authority over HV network safety and switching with hands-on project management of large-scale connections schemes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project managing large-scale connections schemes
  • Holding SAP authority for HV switching, safety documentation, and network control
  • Acting as primary point of contact for on-site engineers delivering HV network works
  • Developing scoping documentation and protection-related diagrams
  • Reviewing detailed designs including SLDs and AC/DC schematics
  • Managing contracts and assigning appropriate work skills to enable delivery
  • Undertaking engineering studies, O&Ms, and technical specifications
  • Site witnessing through to commissioning
  • Investigating and reporting on defects and mis-operations

Requirements

  • Strong experience across EHV, HV 33-11kV, and LV electrical operations
  • Proven track record managing large-scale project delivery
  • Background in design or commissioning of power system protection at distribution level
  • Engineering / H&S competency qualification to City & Guilds level
  • Experience procuring, tendering, and managing major service and refurbishment contracts
  • Strong safety focus with demonstrable risk mitigation on live networks
  • Understanding of CDM regulations and the principal engineer role
