Clarke is seeking an experienced and proactive Electrical Project Engineer to join our Electrical team, providing technical leadership and project support across a range of telecoms infrastructure projects. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced telecoms professional with a strong electrical background looking to take the next step in their career and play a key role in delivering major telecoms infrastructure projects across the UK.

The Role

As a Project Engineer, you will play a critical role in supporting the successful delivery of telecoms infrastructure projects across the UK. Working closely across internal departments, you will provide specialist electrical expertise throughout the project lifecycle. You will be responsible for electrical designs, compliance, project coordination, technical support, and the management of electrical works, ensuring all activities meet customer requirements, industry regulations, and Clarke quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide specialist electrical support across Clarke and wider project stakeholders.
  • Liaise with Design Engineers following site surveys to agree electrical proposals, cable routes, containment requirements, and power solutions.
  • Coordinate electrical installation programmes and support the scheduling of electrical works.
  • Ensure all electrical works comply with current wiring regulations, industry standards, and customer requirements.
  • Review and approve electrical design drawings and associated documentation.
  • Manage the procurement of electrical materials and subcontractor services where required.
  • Support pre-start meetings and attend site visits to provide technical guidance on complex projects.
  • Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement solutions to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Ensure electrical handover documentation and certification are completed accurately and within agreed timescales.
  • Support the resolution of site quality issues, audit findings, and post-build defects.
  • Maintain effective relationships with customers, suppliers, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Assist with the management, development, and performance of the electrical team, including coaching, appraisals, and employee development activities.
  • Contribute to project reporting, performance reviews, and customer meetings when required.

What We're Looking For

Essential

  • Telecommunications industry experience with a strong electrical background.
  • Knowledge of electrical design, installation, testing, and compliance.
  • Experience coordinating projects and working with multiple stakeholders.
  • Strong communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Excel.
  • Understanding of health and safety legislation and industry standards.
  • Full UK driving licence.

Desirable

  • Relevant electrical qualifications and accreditations.
  • Project Management qualification.
  • Experience managing subcontractors.
  • Knowledge of telecoms vendor equipment and power systems.
