Job Overview
We are seeking a Spray Painter to join our team.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing surfaces, mixing and applying paints and ensuring high-quality finishes on various train wheelsets.
This role requires precision, attention to detail and adherence to safety and quality standards.
Responsibilities and Duties
Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, masking, and priming as required.
Read and interpret work orders, blueprints, or specifications to determine painting requirements.
Inspect finished surfaces for quality, ensuring uniform coverage and correct colour and finish.
Maintain and clean spray guns/pumps, paint booths, and related equipment.
Follow safety protocols for handling paints, solvents, and chemicals.
Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production targets and deadlines.
Perform touch-ups or repairs on painted surfaces when necessary.
Qualifications and Experience
Knowledge of paint types, mixing ratios and surface preparation techniques.
Ability to operate spray painting equipment and follow technical instructions.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
Familiarity with workplace safety standards and PPE use.
Good manual dexterity and physical stamina.
Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
