The predicted salary is between 42750 - 52250 £ per year.

We are looking for an experienced Site Engineer to support our Non-Core Wastewater projects across Cheshire and Greater Manchester. Working across multiple sites within the United Utilities region, you will provide engineering and technical support, oversee quality standards and ensure works are delivered accurately and in accordance with project requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Undertake setting out activities, including line and level
  • Use setting-out equipment confidently, including EDM and dumpy levels, not solely GPS
  • Complete pre- and post-work inspections and checks
  • Maintain accurate site records and produce as-built information
  • Carry out quality checks on materials and completed installations
  • Check the setting out and quality of subcontracted works
  • Act as the quality lead across assigned projects
  • Respond to technical queries at site level
  • Communicate effectively with clients, subcontractors and project teams
  • Work independently across multiple sites
  • Ensure works comply with relevant specifications, drawings and quality standards

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

About you

  • Previous wastewater experience gained within the United Utilities framework or another water company
  • Strong setting-out experience, including line and level
  • Practical knowledge of EDM and dumpy-level equipment
  • Excellent record-keeping and as-built documentation skills
  • The ability to assess the quality of materials and installations
  • Confidence dealing with technical queries on site
  • Strong client-facing and communication skills
  • The ability to work effectively without direct supervision
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • A full UK driving licence, due to the requirement to travel between sites

Qualifications and training

The following would be advantageous:

  • A relevant engineering qualification
  • CSCS Gold Card, or the ability to work towards one
  • Previous experience in a supervisory capacity
  • SSSTS or SMSTS
  • First Aid qualification
  • Temporary Works Supervisor or Temporary Works Coordinator training
