Drive New Business Growth in Freight Forwarding at DHL Global Forwarding, we connect people and businesses worldwide, moving more than freight; we move ambition, opportunity, and global trade forward. This is a true hunter role, focused on identifying freight forwarding opportunities, building a high-quality pipeline, and securing new customers within the Consumer & Retail sector.
The Role: With the autonomy to shape your territory and the backing of a global logistics leader, you'll build a pipeline from the ground up, targeting and winning new Freight Forwarding business while making a direct impact on growth. Activity includes:
- Minimum of 20 customer meetings per month
- Engaging decision-makers across retail, fashion, e-commerce, and high street brands
- Promoting DHL Global Forwarding's Air and Ocean freight solutions and LCL/FCL services
- Working closely with internal product specialists and key stakeholders to develop and convert opportunities
- Utilising market intelligence, networking, and innovative prospecting techniques to access and engage hard-to-reach customers
- Maintaining a strategic focus on long-term growth while delivering against new business targets
What You'll Bring: Experience within the Freight Forwarding sector and proven New Business Development success is essential. Strong commercial awareness and understanding of freight forwarding sales cycles. Proven success in generating and converting new business opportunities. Consumer & Retail sector experience is highly desirable. A creative approach to business development, resilient and proactive. Excellent relationship-building and confident in engaging with mid-sized businesses through to strategic accounts. Knowledge of order management and retail supply chains would be an advantage. Driving licence and flexibility to travel across regions; ideally located close to major road networks.
