Required Skills and Qualifications
Time served Mechanical Technician/Fitter.
Aptitude and knowledge of mechanical systems, including pumps, valves and motors
Ability to read technical manuals, schematics.
Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
Experience with preventive and corrective maintenance procedures.
Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently or as part of a team
Relevant certifications or licenses may include but not essential NVQ, BTEC, ONC, HNC, HVAC, IPAF, NVQ, Compex, COMAH.
Key Responsibilities
Conducting routine inspections and preventive maintenance on tanks, pipework, pumps, valves, and other mechanical equipment, generated with a computerised maintenance management system.
Responding to breakdowns, conducting fault finding and repairing the issue and giving feed back
Ensuring compliance with safety protocols and proper use of personal protective equipment
Installing and commissioning new equipment, including power and control wiring for motors, transformers, and control systems.
